Floated glass

We have raw floated glass in a variety of colors for whatever you need, from decorative panels to install in your home or office to applications in products like aluminum doors and windows. Here are the main characteristics of the raw glass we have for sale and installation in Panama:

Características del vidrio crudo o flotado

It consists of a uniform sheet made by floating molten glass on a layer of molten tin. This method gives the resulting sheet a uniform thickness and a very flat surface. This manufacturing process makes it an economical type of glass, widely used in construction and decorative applications due to its ease of production.

Floated glass is considered a type of monolithic glass since it is a single piece and not a composite of several panels (as is the case with laminated and insulated glass).

It is important to clarify that raw or float glass does not undergo any thermal or special treatment once manufactured, unlike tempered or heat-strengthened glass, which receives special treatments to improve the basic physical characteristics of glass in its pure state.

At Kefren, we offer 6mm thick raw glass in a variety of colors, ideal for any design you have in mind.

Available colors

We offer colors ranging from clear, gray, bronze, evergreen, bluegreen, arctic blue, super gray, and extra clear. Prices vary for each glass, and we’ll be happy to quote you the one you prefer or several at a time so you can compare and choose the one that best suits your projects.

Applications of raw or float glass

This type of glass is primarily recommended for decorative rather than structural use due to its fragility. Indoors, it’s used for tabletops, shelves, screens, consoles, skylights, and any accessory where elegance is essential. Outdoors, it’s typically used for windows, sideboards, and framed doors. It’s largely up to the designer to select this type of glass, provided there’s no risk of accidents or external forces acting on the glass.
